Why is that counter free?

When I was looking for a simple textfile-based counter for the website of a friend I found a lot of different counter scripts, but none of them matched my requirements.

• Easy to install
• Working with only one file
• Good installation instructions
• Only basic but important functionality
• Free of errors
• Good support

At this point I decided to write my own counter and share this with others. As my new textfile-based counter ready, people ask me for a mysql version. So I built a mysql counter version as well.

I good counter that fits most people requirements was born. In order to let this counter run on many websites we decided to create the counter in different languages. (Installtion instrutions and support is still in english)

How to make if free, when you need a lot of time for support?

This is easy to answer: The counter has a little add in terms of a link. People who like to have a addfree counter have to pay a small fee. Under this condition I can take to time to give good support via email and icq. People who pay this fee can ask me also to put their website on our live demo page.
